I wanted to see a 19 or even a 20 incher....3-4 GPU desktop replacement for 2011, an R3 18" as the entry level and ALX as it's top of the line flagship. Anyone know's what happened to the ALX mobile version?

It was extremely, extremely expensive and didn't sell well. They had custom paint jobs on them and the base price for the mALX was $4500. "Fully equipped" was over $5500.

And they were slow. AMD Turion single core processors (I don't think they ever put the Turion X2's in them) powering dual video cards, 2GB RAM max (running Vista.. yuck!), just a mixture of bad ideas for LOTS of money!

After that I think they canned the idea of going to that big of a laptop. Acer had a 20" at the time that was a big failure and I don't think the market was ready for that large of a laptop. Now there are rumors of an 18" laptop and thats a pretty big risk alone as not a single laptop over 17" has been very successful.

Then might as well get a matx rig with desktop power instead. With a 20"+ "mobile" there's really no point lol.
