I don't know why Micheals post was closed. I think he made some good points. The M17x is really nothing new at all. It's actually in my eyes a huge step backwards. Just like the M1730 from Dell.

Progress in electronics usually means decrease in physical size with and increase in overall performance. To me the the M17x just took a huge fall down the evolutionary ladder. Absolutly nothing new. I guess now it's up to Voodoo to really shake things up a little.

The m17x is simply alienwares mobile monster, such as the M1730, and the NP9262. They were just late with the release. Also, shinok poses a good question. Another thing, not everyone wants a 13.3in laptop; some people actually like 17in laptops.

Progress in electronics doesn't make it any easier yet to stuff a massive and hot graphics card in a smaller case. I think to some degree gaming and true portability will always be somewhat at odds with one another.

Michael's thread was closed because it was sensationalism.

And now you decide to start another thread on the same issue? Where is the logic?

Closed. People can decide for themselves whether the m17x is good for them or not.
