All BS aside... do we have enough info on this model to get a rough estimate on its 'starting price', I'm not talking its price with a q99000 with 9.9ghz and 5 8800mgtx ddr9... just the starting rate of the computer pre-configured?? And hell when It might be available? :)

Yes, I do. Otherwise I would not post a "Space reserved" post, as I could do nothing to it.

I am simply using different posts to divide the information I plan to add later.

We thought Q1 '08, but alienware pulled the m5550 already, so it may be sooner.
While there has been no official announcement, $1800-$2000 and up is my guess.

    mjl2142 and I think alike :)

"The starting price of the M15x probably will be $1799.99 or 1999.99, with a "good" configuration being about $2300-2500."

Yup..... Also, Alienware has started advertising for the m15x and m17x, (and a silver Area 51 7500) in PC GAMER.

Would a scan uploaded be legal?

Well I hope that the prices will be that low..you know, in EU the Alienware is a bit more expansive.

    My Theory

With GTX and a SR 2.2 GHz it would cost around ~18 00 Euros without the taxes.

(I have compared AW between the US and the EU value blabla, and did some math. I'm to lazy to write how I did it...maybe later)

3 weeks ago with the original leaked website, it said the ship date was November 19th. I wouldn't take December 4th too seriously.

On the dell website, they also say that somethings special is happening on Dec. 4th(XPS), and isnt AW part of dell?

No AW isn't part of Dell. Dell owns AW, but they still remain separate companies. By the way, I'm just speculating on the release date, that is not a serious date by any means.

I'm torn apart between 15 inch and 17 inch. If i'm going to be using it for hardcore gaming, will this be good? I don't want too small of a screen :S

15 inches seems to be the general size for laptop users. But some like 17" notebooks. I personally think 17"s is on the larger side for a portable notebook. However if your not gonna be carrying it with you everywhere i think a 17" is fine. After that you still have to know how thick these things are gonna be. The resolution however shouldnt be a problem if your going with the 8800 in either single or Sli seeing as it will tear through any game at any reasonable resolution currently out there.

guys, the ship date on the fake config pages are calculated by a program that starts at a default of 4 days plus anything special Alienware has concerning the ship date. ignore it.

Man when is this baby gonna be available...i'm hurting for one. I believe I might have to wait until Jan 08 before these are available, which makes all my gaming during the holiday break non-existent. We need a couple of these badboys to be beamed down from the mother ship!

After watching the video on AW's site, I am quite sure that the reso on those would be 1680 x 1050, judging from the size on the Vista's clock on the right side panel. It could be 1920 x 1200, because it won't be that small if it was 1440 x 900 (or 1280 x 800).

    http://www.alienware.com/intro_pages/m17x_m15x.aspx

    ADDED:

after looking at the tiny tiny single icon on the left hand side, I was thinking it could be 1920 x 1200 too. Damn it but I already know what I want. I want that one. Not 1440 x 900 for sure. It's either 1680 x 1050 or 1920 x 1200.

This is all speculatipn but I would expect the m15x to be in Jan due to the fact taht they took out the m5500 off the website like 3 weeks ago

    Re screen resolution.

I was thinking it should be 1920 x 1200. Under features on the link it says 'Above 1080p Video' so 1680 x 1050 etc would be too small?

good catch there. But that doesn't mean they wont offer something lower, aye? I hope they will come in 1680x1050, 1920x1200 will be too damn small for 15.4incher.

Smaller is OK, as long as they offer the larger. Can always change font size if too small :)

Remember, the m5550 had a 1920x1200 screen option.

The new one is probably similar there.
