    What would make a Alienware m15x-51 be better then a cheaper Dell Studio Xps 16.

    - They share the same gpu
    - The Dell has newer faster ram ddr3 vs ddr2
    - And I personally dont think the Alienware looks better than the Dell.

    * What do you think

    the ATI HD3670 not equal to the Nvidia Geforce 9800M-GT is, young grasshopper. large difference this is.

    also, in practice, DDR3 is not faster than DDR2. did i mention that the m15x can have up to 1 terabyte in HDD space internally, or hold two batteries internally? i don't think the xps 16 can do either. as for the styling, that really comes down to personal preference. oh and the fact that the m15x has a 16:10 screen, as opposed to the dell's cheapo 16:9 display, just seals the deal.

    Large difference in price too if he's on a budget. If you're looking for the same CPU speeds then you're only getting an 8600M or 8700M in the AW m15x for the same cost as the top end XPS 16.

    All valid features in favor of the m15x. But for the same cost you're getting 4Gb of RAM and a 500Gb HDD standard in the XPS16 while you're only getting 2Gb of RAM and 160Gb HDD in the m15x.

    And this I gotta call you on because the AW m15x in your sig is only using a 1440x900 resolution screen. :p Again for the same pricetag the XPS 16's "cheapo" 16:9 screen is 1980x1080 resolution (which of course you can set to 1600x900 resolution if you prefer that image quality) and is an RGBLED.

    regarding the screens, i was more referring to the format/aspect ratio - i, among many others, consider 16:9 inferior to 16:10.
