This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    Alienware m17x with 4GB RAM installed - 32bit Vista Ultimate only sees 2GB

    Maybe this is a HARDWARE problem but not an OS problem. Press F2 after turn on your M17x to enter the BIOS, it may display the system memory is 2GB, that means the system hardware (motherboard) can only recogonize 2GB memory, no matter what OS installed. I have this problem too, the AW customer support ask me to send back my M17x for repair.
