Hi all,
I recently made the jump to Windows 7 64bit from Vista home 32bit. To match this I upgraded my memory from 2gb to 4gb.
I've got the usual problem in the systems "summary" of it showing 4gb memory (3gb usable) and from a bit of browsing it seems what I need to access the rest of my memory is a bios flash so I can get a memory remap.
What I hope you might be able to help me with is a BIOS update for windows 7... the "my hive" section on alienware only has bios updates for XP and vista ONLY (like a good boy I pay attention to capital letters).
Can someone either give me a link to a windows 7 bios update or confirmation that they have tried and tested the vista 64 bit with windows 7.
Alternatively if anyone has solutions for this they are well received too.
Thanks in advance.
Dave

It's a limitation in Intels Chipset that causes this problem. The Chipset itself has a hard limit of 4gb unfortunately and this is why you cant use more than 3gb even on a 64-bit operating system.
BIOS wise the only reason there were two BIOS's for the M9750 was because XP addressed the touch panel buttons differently to vista. Since Windows 7 has the same functionality as Vista the Vista BIOS should work just fine for Windows 7 and does not need updating.
Alienware m9750 Windows 7 bios??
