They sound great to me! best i ever heard in a laptop. Thing has some kick when you start tweaking the IDT.

The speakers are pretty good as far as laptop speakers go. They're not as good as real, dedicated speakers, but they're pretty decent. My M11x and M14x have nice, loud speakers (the M14x one is a bit louder) with decent sound depth. I prefer to have my real speakers plugged in when I'm at home, but they're pretty good when I'm on the go.

As laptop speakers go, they are above average but are easily beaten by very cheap external speakers.

Oh come on, of course external speaker will always beat laptop's speaker, even the best would get pwned too, even a simple headset will also beat it too, like my Turtle beach Z1 (20 buck) easily beat the AW's speaker. But If compare to all other, I think the AW's is the best so far, even better than my bro's MBP 13".

The speakers are pretty good as far as laptop speakers go. But with the IDT software on the graphics EQ. I use the classic EQ., I don't even use my Bose companion 5 with my N18x, the speakers are excellent my 2 cent...

My M17x-R2 speakers sound really good compared to MOST laptops out there. I like how it's not only high frequency sounds. Does a better job of covering a more complete range. Only thing that could beat it is the Asus Ultrabook's Bang and Olufsen speaker setup (with external subwoofer attached). Otherwise, the others have too much distortion and are mostly high frequency sounding speakers. I actually enjoy using the Alienware speakers (except when my W,A,S,D hand covers the left speaker, lol)
