Alienware keeps trying to steal my money. This has nothing to do with the restock fee that they are charging me, they actually shorted me on my refund by 40 something dollars.
my final purchase price (with free shipping) was 2156. If the restock fee is taken away, then that means i have 85% then i SHOULD be getting back, but NO, these people don't know how to do math. i should be getting back 1,832, but instead i recieved 1,784.15.
I even called in and attempted to fix this BEFORE my refund was supposed to be given, but no, they lied to me about it being fixed and took my money.
DO NOT EVER BUY FROM ALIENWARE
-
-
I would contact your bank, and just ask for all of the money back (including the restocking fee).
-
I personally would never buy from a boutique brand anyway, but that's me.
Live and learn I guess. -
I know this is definately off subject( Big time), But Sprint ripped me off too--it was a windows based smart phone, so in a way it is related for that is a minature computer. If anybody objects I will retract my post.

Maybe they're counting taxes or shipping when they're giving you it back (unless you're already counting that?)?
-
shippnig was free, and i shipped to NH so no sales tax. the final price was 2156, and it ALL went to alienware
-
-
Hm...maybe the shipping is free but if you ask for a refund, they charge you that shipping cost (I think). The shipping is not really free, on the cart page, they just discount the shipping after and the shipping is not "free", they just pay it for you. XoticPC have this policy: "Items that are returned that were shipped with Free Shipping or Free upgraded shipping will be deducted the appropriate cost for the shipping option used." So maybe its the same for them???
-
their return policy states that a 15% restock fee may be deducted, nothing about any other fees. Shipping was free (they sent me labels) and i was told by my cancellation rep that they made a mistake in their calculations (or did you not read that?)
-
i did'nt have to pay any shipping charges for mine to be returned for a refund but im in the uk so im not sure if that makes any difference. we also dont have to pay the restocking fee so i got all of my money back.
-
Stop scaremongering, most people haven't had a problem with Alienware, me included...
*sigh* -
well their "mistakes" are growing out of control. the amount of problems i have had with this machine and their reps is terrible.
I'm not scaremongering, they are illegally taking my money right now. and i ALREADY TOLD THEM about it. before i got my refund i called and asked why it was gonna be so low.
this is beyond a simple mistake. this is just stupidity. -
How can alienware still exist!? many years and moons have passed since I had my old alienware with 9600m and that was like 6 years ago and their customer service was terrible but I guess even though that Dell has bought them they are still the worst company on this planet.
-
pre dell they were ok, but now the are terrible.
i just got off the phone with my cancellation rep and he told me that they posted my credit on thursday instead of giving it to me with my refund. This means i have to wait until the end of the week and if i don't get it by then, i can be very angry. -
Alienware-Armando Company Representative
Unfortunately, James or I are unable to do anything about this, this sort of issue is out of our hands and must be dealt with the appropriate department. As explained earlier via PM, please contact the cancellation dept at your earliest convenience to address it. The agent will be glad to assist you on this matter.
Thank you. -
This is pretty cut and dry. First call the financial institution through which you made the original purchase. Ask them what your options are. Depending on what they say you can always file a small claims court suit. Be sure and add the court costs and your time to the suit.
I would be irritated too. But, complaining to the peanut gallery probably won't solve your problem. -
@Amplyfied - Sometimes people here just like to talk about their problems (as I do) and it is a good warning for potential buyers. For example, check out my repair log (which I should update).
-
many, many people didnt like that and were pretty much screwed over.
-
Stone825 You're right I could have left that out. I did read your repair log already.
-
but speak to a lawyer as this is different from country to country- I did it and won once.. -
-
I'm not sure if that'll work here. The jury will question why you decided to buy another product from them if they "jipped" you off in the first place.
-
I mean document all!
then you the consumer have one choice that is to sue and that will cost like you would not believe and the time, again build the defence around this, then have AW do the work, lawyer prep, bailiff costs, interests etc.
Then you hit them with the counter claim.
One could say you're doing it to get back at you, but if it goes as far as a jury- who's not been in a similar situation
and by the way cry, try to make it sound that you hit a wall, they refused to return email, mail and calls- you tried it all.
Then you had enough and saw only one way, not paying for a new product, to be able to get your money back.
you might have to pay some money for the new system, as price would fall, however not the interest and the lawyer bills
NB! I know a bit to psycho for what 50 dollars, if it was a laptop then yes..
I'd pay some ppl 500 dollars just to go away ( door sales men) -
I for one am deeply offended that they stole his money ILLEGALLY, instead of the usual law-abiding way. This will not stand!!
-
funny, i spoke to a CS rep at Dell about the restock fee and the conditions... because their website state that Dell "may" apply restocking fees...
i wanted to get the specific conditions that trigger that... nobody wanted to give me an answer... -
They will never tell anyone, it's probably some rules and a manager's decision, so bare in mind when speak to a CS rep, you want them on your side...
Alienware stole my money (illegally)
