I placed an order on friday (12th) for £2,046.39 for m15x. Yesterday I checked the orderstatus page and it shows that I'm still in phase 2 - same thing today. So I call them up and the lady at the billing dep. tells me you need to pay another 71.xx (something pence). I asked why because everything was paid and the money was gone from my credit card. She said the total order was £2,1xx.39. I told her that's correct but I used the 5% discount code. She asked me to tell her the code she checked it etc and told me she needs someone to take a look at this and if something is wrong then they'll give me a call today. I mean what the hell is wrong with them??! they have discount codes that they do not accept? One more problem like this and I'll seriously consider cancelling my order (not only because of this problem, but also because of everything I read here). Did anyone else have problems with their discount codes?

what a way to start your AW purchase.
the amount of people that have gone through these forums that have had complications with AW ordering and then cancelled through the amount of stress they were put through is beyond me.
your case is slightly different as its to do with discount codes (which i didnt even know we got here in the uk)
it all boils down to communication between all the different alienware departments.
firstly if they have taken the amount out your bank or credit card then they have to honour this, even though you are in the right and it is them that has made the mistake. the last thing that you need is them trying to sort it out in the background and not keeping you informed especially when theve already taken the full amount already.
my advice is contact by private message Alienware Armando or Alienware James by clicking on the link to the right of their profile. include your full name that is on the card you paid with and any alienware account numbers you were given.
hopefully they will be able to get to the bottom of this a lot quicker than waiting for someone in the office to get back to you.

Eh, maybe not designed better but, it performs better although being bigger and heavier means it's less mobile but, I have had no problems so far (read my reviews if you like, they're in my sig), many other people are having the same "success" with the m17x. There have been some monor issues with faulty GPU's but they sent new ones and the problem went away so not really that bad...
It's up to you, depends if you want a really cool 15" notebook with the risk of some problems or a desktop replacement...

I didn't have any problems just a slight delay caused by the system waiting for my mug to be in stock...... (I have a review that explains all)
Once your order has been confirmed, check with CS once a week to make sure all is well. It's not being annoying, it's just being curious (and slightly impetient if your anything like me lol)
Mine arrived in 3 weeks (I'm in the Uk so...)
