Alienware Warranty

Apologies if this thread is already made - I didn't see one when I browsed through real quick.

How good is the Dell/Alienware warranty?

Im trying to keep my 15x around 2-2150, and the $200 warrant for 2 years just nails me. How complete is the warranty? Will they replace parts if they go bad, or will I still have to pay to have them replaced anyways? Is it worth the $200 I could spend on other stuff spicying it up, or should I go with some more bang in the laptop itself?

I'm going into college next year, so the longer I have it, the better, but I also don't want to drop quite a bit on a package not worth having.

Get the 1 year complete care warranty and extend it later. The complete care warranty will even cover accidental damage.

 

Dell has the best warranty policies in the business.

You can, however, extend and upgrade at a later time if you don't have the funds now.

I always get the standard 1 year, then decide if I'm keeping the system I'll extend the warranty later on.

 

I thought that Complete Care was accidental damage protection? What else is it? BTW is it cheaper to buy more years up front at time of sale? Or will they give you a better deal to extend down the line? Or, is it the same exact amount no matter what?

 

You can usually get a discount by upgrading when your warranty is about to expire.

You'll get an email and sometimes a letter that will let you know.

I've had dell warranties for 7 years now on various machines and have always been taken care of whether it was a hardware failure or me spilling soda on a machine. They'll even come to my house (alienware used to not do this so they have not and will not do this on my current alienware machines) highly recommended on such expensive equipment

 

Aight, sounds good guys, but is the '1 year ltd hardware warranty, In-home service after remote diagnosis' the one that covers everything, or do I need to upgrade to 'my tech team' to get that?

Hmm, I can only find those 2 options, its under the 'warranties and service' when youre customizing the 15x right?

 

I configured mine with 2 year complete care, but I don't know how to register my laptop with dell to know how long my warranty last, and when (if I need to) do I need to extend the warranty?
