    Hey guys,

I have been seriously considering buying this thing but there are a couple of questions I need answered before I take the dive. Any help would be much appreciated!

Firstly, I live in Japan and would be buying a Japanese machine with a Japanese win7 install. Would it be possible for me to uninstall the Japanese windows and install an English edition (from my previous pc) but use the new serial key? Or is it region locked?

Second, are blu-rays region free? At some point I will be moving back to my home in the UK and don't want to end up spending the extra money on a bluray drive if I won't be able to use it in the future.

Thanks for reading guys. I hope somebody can help.

    Hi there,
I live in Sweden and usually I like my OS to be in the swedish language. I have on several occasions installed the swedish language pack from misrosoft when the default language has been English. This is installed through Windows Update so it shouldn't be a problem but I do not know if all languages are supported, I'm sure that you may find info about this by browsing windows update etc.

regarding your bluray question -> Blu-ray Disc - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia (Short answer: Blurays are not regionfree)

I have had my eyes on the X51 myself and it looks like a smart piece of hardware (for my needs at least). Deciding between this or another Alienware laptop (m17x) to replace my m11x r2.

    Thanks for the responses guys.

Sorry big brother... please don't hurt me!
My question is somewhat laptop related.... I want to know if I can use the disc that came with my m11x to install English windows but using the serial from the new x51?

    Have mercy :notworthy:
