Yes, and ironically, I just laid down $3500 for a loaded m17x because I tried playing the AoC early release this weekend, but felt like a Woolly Mammoth stuck in a tar pit on my current notebook.

I'm sure that Alienware will be seeing a spike in sells over the next month.

I certainly hope you didn't buy memory from Alienware. Get the minimum and get 4GB (2x2GB) from egghead.com

    It's far cheaper.

@Kevin - If you can PLEASE cancel that order and let me help you out some. I can lay down a configuration for you that has (2) 8800GTX's for basically the same exact price. DO NOT GO THROUGH WITH THAT ORDER! :)

    OR

You can purchase a M1730 which are on sale right now. Here is what you can get for around $3200

    Intel® Core™ 2 Duo T9300 (2.5GHz/800Mhz FSB/6MB cache)
Genuine Windows Vista® Home Premium Edition
2GB Shared Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM at 667MHz
Speed: 160GB SATA Hard Drive (7200RPM) Free Fall Sensor
CD / DVD Burner (DVD+/-RW Drive)
    NVIDIA® SLI™ Dual GeForce® 8800M GTX with 1GB GDDR3 Memory

This M1730 is likely a lot more stable than the M17x will be, and it has already been tried and tested. It also comes with a neat LCD in the top right for games which is very nice. You also get a better Tech support (in my opinion) and have an option of returning it with no worries about a restocking fee. In addition, this M1730 I just laid out will score about 17,000 - 19,000 in 3dmark06 while your M17x will score around a 9,000.

    Your choice :)

Stone's right, SLI 8700s is not worth $3500. Even the (above-average priced) m15x with an 8800M GTX (more powerful than dual 8700s) would be approx. $1000 less than that.

If you use the 20% off coupon for the XPS M1730, an 8800M GTX SLI 2.4GHz rig will cost around $2400.

I REALLY doubt the m17x is going to get 9000. That's ****ing rediculous.

Ah, I see that now. Yea, that's a stupid idea. If you want sub-par graphics cards in a 17" form factor, get an m9750, it's cheaper. You buy an m17x for the dual 8800's. >.>

Ah, thanks for the tips. Stone825, I sent you a PM.

Could someone please link me to this 20% Dell coupon that is mentioned?? That'd be great!

Sorry to hijack the OP's original topic ;)

@Kevin - I replied. Follow my suggestion of using the dell forums to post about the M1730.
