This inquiry pertains to Alienware's keyboards.
Alot of mainstream laptops today have keyboards that wear away overtime; Some show signs of months usage in just 4 weeks.

    Examples:

HP's older keyboard design showed a remnant glossy spotch after much use.

Apple's black macbook's trackpad looks hideous after running your figner over it so much that it wears down.

My concern is: How are Alienware's keyboards and trackpads?
Anyone who've owned an Alienware please comment about your experiences and prevention of this common issue. Will those white outlines around each key wear off?
It is inevitable (of Course) but how long under daily usage will it wear off?

I had no wear in my keys or touchpad when i had my m15x. I did use the mylar sticker though. However I did use it for a while without it too and I had the laptop for about 10 months. So its definitely not a quick process to wear down the keys

the keyboard is crap as keys will pop off when over used (especially if you dont type perpendicular tu the keyboard, for instance it happened for my arrows keys when playing)

Also, does this really matter? Are you afraid a Used laptop will look used?!

I had one of the HP's where the keys got shiny from use, it is not that bad. Certainly not the end of the world. Is just the result of oil from your skin getting on the keys....

One of the things I love about the chassis design of the m9750/M17 is that it looks terrific after years of use. I can honestly say that my m9750 still looks practically new and the trackpad still looks and works the same as it did since day 1 after more than two years of heavy use now. The only minor difference is one side of the spacebar seems a little shinier than the other.

Ya I was VERY impressed with the quality of my whitebook when I had it. If I was smarter I would still have it for years to come haha
