I forgot the name for that app, but from what I heard, its really sleek to use. My question is, whether it is AW exclusive?

If possible, I'd like to use samilar app on my M1730. But I'm not sure where to get it, and whether it works.

    Any idea?

I can't tell you much, but I do know that it is not AW exclusive. In fact, it was on a sub-14 inch laptop, but I do not remember the particular model (sorry).

I think Aliensense will be proprietary, it's part of the Command Center application...but seeing as Dell owns AW maybe it will work. I didn't like Aliensense (or anything about the "command center" for that matter) so I uninstalled it within a few days of getting the m17.
I'm sure there is some other facial recognition software you could get if you can't get the alienware one to work

AlienSense is all AW but I have a friend with a sleek Asus and it had face recognition.

Dell also has their own Face Detection software, I've seen it on their business lines, maybe you could get that for your XPS?
