Anyone else having an issue were Dell doesn't know that your a customer?

I called all the Alienware numbers I could find but I keep getting forwarded to Dell support and sales. I ask them if I can extend my warranty but once I give them my info they cant find anything and, as a result of this, wont help me. I have a manager that is looking into it but I think the whole thing is a little absurd.

It has been discussed over 1000 times in this forum. M17 customers are not Dell customers. It's hard to get to AW, there is exact 1 number that you can call to get to AW, all other numbers will get forwarded to Dell which knows nothing about M17.

Also, don't try to extend your warranty, because you will get furious when you find out AW doesn't let you to do that after spending 1 week of trying to contact them. This has been discussed before, and my thread got deleted too. Yes, it's confirmed that AW/Dell screwed M17 customers.

Most M17 users don't know they are screwed yet because their warranty is not up. I was one of the first who got the M17, so I found out first. I expect there will thousands of M17 customers coming up here to rant about it pretty soon. $2500 investment down the drain, thx to Dell/AW.

Unfortunately for me I paid for the laptop in full so skipping a bill now isn't an option.

Thanks for the info fusionsenses. I have been off the forum frankly since the mobility-mod app supported my 3870s. Maybe I'll just forgot about the warranty and only buy a windows 7 upgrade disk. Any luck with those?

Just an update. I have been put through to several reps -all which have no clue how to assist me- and a "supervisor" who said they will call me back in a day with some information. I have yet to receive this call. All my attempts to get a hold of someone that can assist me have failed. Any suggestions?

By not understanding that M17 is handle by AW and Dell knows nothing about it.
Dell won't ask him to pay, but AW will ask.

I called up Dell about this. Any M15x or m17x customers are being redirected to the support.dell.com site instead. The Account Number entry does work due the number being an Alienware number and newer numbers are Dell ones. :(

Thanks for the info Alexk7 but this is one of several numbers that are now forwarded to Dell for any customer service issues, including sales.
