alienware is scheduled to make their annual appearance this summer @E3 (5/7-5/9), so aside from the recently launched M11x R3/M14x/M18x, what else (if anything) do you think they have new in store for the show?
perhaps in response to the new asus rog models G74SX/G53SX ( intel Z68/glasses-free 3D/nvidia GTX 560M) launching at both computex and E3, we might see something with the popular six month old M17x R3?

I'll put in my request for Alienware versions of the Dell Streak 7 & Streak Pro tablets.
Not gonna happen, but I can dream! -
I honestly can't imagine there'd be much more to show from Alienware at the moment as they've announced a fair bit over the past few months though the recent i5 CPU option for the m14x could herald some new options for the current crop of laptop machines, I'm not expecting anything too drastic though.

not that again!~ lol

a droid version too, just gr8!~ lol

Maybe they will announce 485M support for 3D model.
-
if that happens

An Alienware Phone would be so nice!
but i dont expect to see much, maybe something like an m17x R3.2 a few upgrades possibly, and just showing off the GTX 560m (m18x/m17x), playing a few new games. Maybe Blu-ray in the m14x and a optical Drive for the (m11x). Anything else would just be small upgrades to make the systems more playable for future games.
a small edit:
i think Blu-ray burners may come back -
Some new graphic options for both M17x R3 and M18x would be nice, may be a 3D screen aswell... I really want to gear up for the upcoming second half of the year games)
-
I hope alienware has something big for show, hopefully more than just showcasing the 560m in the m17x r3/m18x
-
Well, if nVidia is also showing, there is a remote chance in this dark world that the GTX570m/GTX580m *might*, just *might* be launched
Imagine nearly full clocked GF114 mobile GPUs(current GTX485m is heavily downclocked GF104).
-
I remember this chart from some chinese review site, and it listed the 570m right next to the 6970, so that may be nvidia's option to have a price point to compete with the 6970, and the 580m was on the top, above the 485m. -
is it possible that the 6990m would be announced for the 17x and 18x?
-
Yes!! Announce new cards so the current ones drop in price lol!!!
-
Moment of truth in 17 hours at booth PMR401. Hopefully good stuff.
-
so anything announced yet?
-
I know im dying to find out!

any updates yet?
-
My 17 hours estimate was off.... Nintendo conference had to go first.
According to Gamespot its in 45 minutes. -
Come on, lets get something more than GTX560m, i wanna see 485m (3d enabled and non 3d optimus), AMD 6990m & 1600mhz ram in m17x & dual 485m & 6990m in the m18x!
and i want this to be available soon so i can buy it in the next few weeks!
-
Still nothing?
-
Got an email from AW of a new desktop? Not sure if that's old or not.
-
anything yet?
-
I am still not finding anything ... the coverage and access to information to this event is god damn horrible. For such a 'tech' event you would think they would know how to use the internet ffs.
-
I know exactly what you mean! If you don't it stream live its hard as heck to find video footage...
-
all i think they had is just the Alienware Hummer....what a bummer
-
Well that ducks if that's all.... I'll check in depth when I get home from my vacation. The battlefield 3 frostbite 2 show off video was amazing!!! And I only watched it in 720 on my windows phone.
-
Nothing, absolutely frickin nothing. I can't find a god damned word on or about Alienware at E3. Nothing on Gamespot, nothing on the E3 site, nothing from Gametrailers ... god damn.
-
maybe we will see a video after E3? honestly idk, dont expect the gtx 560m till after June 16th due to the sale going on for like $235 difference
-
alienware didnt bring anything new to E3....
they did brought in the hummer.... that was about it.
oh yea one of the guys were playing tera.

Thumbs down for alienware atm

was hoping for at least the 560M.

About new cards... well, you're right -
i think, that's it. they arrived at E3 just to show up their product line... pity... may be they'll update something next week?
-
Alienware homepage , at the bottom.
What is "Alienware Insider Sign-up" , Seems new to me unless I was blind in the past few weeks.
Pressing it does nothing. -

To be honest this years E3 has been nothing but lack luster. I'm looking forward to next year
Guys I think Alienware really shined at CES, however what is really cool at the moment is desktop market. X79 very cool
-
so do we have any clue when the graphic card updates can be? im tired of waiting, i dont want the 460m i want the 560m even though its not that much better! but i need a new laptop....my screen is flickering alot XD
-
Hoping this rumor is true otherwise might just go with 6970. -
FYI, this website has some coverage

^I believe you mean the 6870m and 6970m...
There never was a 5970m, and the 5870m is better than the 460m
Dell is a big corporation trying to make big bucks, they aren't going to loose money shipping a cheaper 900p screen over a 1080p if they can't charge for it.
Also, there really is no difference between 1066mhz ram and 1866mhz ram. I admit, it would be nice if alienware did offer it standard like they do in the m14x, but it isn't too big of a deal. Plus buying it aftermarket is better and cheaper anyways. -
yea i ment 6970m lol. sorry. But i mean still. Even if they add $100 for the screen into the price it would help considering 95% of the people want 1080p and the other 5% probably needed to with the cheaper option due to price. True aftermarket is always going to be cheaper due to the fact we have to put it in ourselves. RAM i dont mind putting in, as long as i dont have to go to the slots where i have to take my keyboard off
-
which begs the question, why throw money at such an event if you're not going to take full advantage of the golden marketing opportunties it presents?
at least keep the waters stirring a bit, even if it's dropping crumbs on some soon to be refreshed dGPU offerings... imho, some house cleaning is definitely in order over on 'the mothership' atm.
