Hey guys! Congratulations on your purchase of the M17, it's a great system. Now, I know AW doesn't always provide the most up-to-date drivers, and there are going to be issues that you run into from time to time that you can't easily resolve on your own. Well, that's why NBR is here in the first place. To those of you who are not aware, the M17 is actually a re-branded Arima/Flextronics W840-DI. In laymens terms, this means it is the same system that many other resellers customize and tweak then throw a logo on it and call it their own. All of this is leading to a point, and that point is there are quite a few of us over in the OCZ forum who have this rig. Ours doesn't have the BIOS restrictions, which allows for overclocking. And ours doesn't have the sexy skull, or the rubberized keys.. instead, ours is the skeleton that makes up the rig you're typing on. But, the heart of the rig is the exact same. If for any reason you're looking for advice, guidance, or even driver support that can not be found in this Forum then please.. please come visit us over in the OCZ Arena as there are many knowledgeable folks there with a wide variety of knowledge and experience to assist and guide you. I attempt to post any useful information to the AW forum, and I ask that anyone here do the same for us. I wish there were a way for these forums to be combined into a singular reference..but I'm not sure this is possible. I'd hate to see either of our families be left out of the loop..so let's come together and provide each other the most that we can.

I got your back if you got mine! :D

NBR's OCZ Forum for support outside of AW can be found here:

If nothing else..just come take a look around. See ya there! :)

E-wrecked, First let me take the time and thank you. I have read many of your posts and all have been helpful and insightful and for you to come to the AW forums to help is just awsome. Once I get mine I will do the same, as best I can.

Now, since you have my back, can I get some protection from my wife when the system gets delivered. LOL...

One thing for newbies to know is that AW doesn't support the overclocking that the guys in ocz are doing, so if you want to do the o/c, then just beware of voiding warranty.

Most of us know, but I just want to warn the newbies.

He never said to OC the AW, though, just that their models can, and AW's can't. I am sure if he was to get in depth with an AW M17 user who wanted to talk about how far they could push their lappy, they would already know it voids the warranty, but I do agree it's a good idea to say it anyway... There are "those" people... :)

I'll have some roses delivered.. just lemme know when the package is going to be delivered :D

I'm sure I could easily show some folks how to void their warranty. As a matter of fact, there's an OCZ thread that gets in depth with how to void the M17 warranty, and I made sure to include disclaimers so that everyone knows that it is possible to OC, but not recommended by myself, and it does cause you to lose support from AW for any future warranty claims. Well, that is if they find out. ;)

True that. Seems like people think that as soon as you hit the 'Set Clocks' button that the Alienware CEO gets a text message on his Blackberry or something. Not that I condone dishonesty, but most overclocking can't be traced at all.

Hey, when I tell ppl o/c void warranty, that doesn't mean I didn't do it myself.
    At least I didn't say I did, that's what's important.
