After owning my M15x for a few weeks, I can soundly say I have fallen in love with it. It plays every game and app like a dream and really looks and feels great doing it. My only gripe, which I tried my best to ignore for a while, has been the audio quality. It seems like on heavier songs that it "drags." Kind of like someone is dragging a piece of metal across the ground. There are also constant pops and clicks. Not absurdly loud, but def. there. I have tested this with 2 diff. sets of speakers and 2 sets of headphones, all of which have been of extremely high build quality and work fine on other machines. I also experience this with the built in speakers so its not just an issue with audio through the headphone jack.

I dont mind living with the issue as this lappy has so many other great things going for it but would really love to fix it if possible. I have tried many suggestions from around the forums (install, uninstall drivers) but to no avail. I have not tried getting it resolved with the help of Dell as I am not sure if anything can be done.

My real question I guess, is if anyone has had success resolving the issue via software changes or with replacement parts, or maybe are not having the issue in the first place?

Thank you all very much in advance!!!

I also now see there is a new BIOS as of 12/10/09 and have not yet installed it. Perhaps this will help? Anyone care to offer insight on this new BIOS?

How do get something stickied here? These questions get asked everyday.

Disable Powermizer and you're good to go.

This issue is brought to you by the "the crappy way it's meant to be played" on Windows 7.
