    Hi All

i looked around in all the topics, where to post it and finally decided to start a new thread. (@Mod´s: if its wrong here, please move in sidetopics, thx)

Was home during christmas and checked out one electronic supermarket for after christmas game sales :D , passed the laptop section and what did i see ?? 2 Allpowerfull´s, M17x and M15x for 1999€ and 1699€.
Basic config, no customized ones, but still

OK, i understand the policy of DELL to reach a lot of customers, but this supermarket isnt one of the sophisticated ones, it´s a kind of "grab your stuff and don´t ask questions, we can´t answer them anyway"´and then they sell AW top modell´s ?

i would understand it, if i get a sales guy to answer questions and is able to convince a customer to buy that kind of a laptop, but as i said, that market is definitely not that kind of.

i was a little surprised and finally decided to share my experience with you.

BUT, i finally found some after christmas sale games too :D

So in other words Alienware laptops are viewed just like diet coke or some sort which can be purchased anywhere, is that what you mean :)

I dont know but sometimes you can grab an Alienware in BestBuy or Costco or Sam's Club. BestBuy aside, I dont think you can get any advice from salemen in those store either.

yep, but don´t get me wrong on that, everybody can buy whatever he/she wants and i´m also not jealous if somebody buys/owns an AW :) but shouldn´t be these machines the flagship of AW ??

and then you find them between a coffeemachine and an iron board

this supermarket usually don´t sell high performance or high end stuff, mainly last year model´s, so if you look for a sale, you are definitely right there :p

in this case, the AW´s are just basic configs as you can find them on the DELL page, anyway, as per google "Alienware manufactures the world's best high-performance and PC gaming desktop and laptop computers"

Well, even the M17x in a basic config is considered standard stuff (I suppose).

Alienware pre-Dell tried to sell systems in local places (South Florida) a long time ago. It didn't work out and they stopped doing it.

Now that Dell has AW and all the logistics to support it, they are pushing these systems everywhere.

It makes great sense from a financial standpoint, so my hat's off to Dell.

I don't think it matters where you get one. You're paying premium for the badge and the hardware. I wish they sold them at Walmart, frankly. Save on shipping.

Walmart lol. I think BestBuy is a more proper place. They have all kind of laptop, ranging from Acer, Asus to Vaio and Macbook, in every BestBuy. But just few BestBuy have Alienware, sometimes.

And we have BestBuy everywhere, like Walmart.
