I have a Dell Studio 17 and Dell Studio 15 as well and liked their fingerprint software a million times better than the POS that came with my M17.
So, I edited the install package to allow it to install on my Alienware. If anyone wants it, I'm more than happy to share. It's Digital Persona Personal. I never did mess around with the Vitakey program much, so I never could figure out how to let me log onto web pages just by my finger (if it even does), but this program does let you do that.
The only issue I've noticed (on all three systems) is that the plug-in for Firefox has a java conflict, so that if you ever try to click a link to save a file, you'll have to Right Click and save as, or Right Click & Open in new tab/window before it'll start to download.
Will someone host the install package?

Nevermind, it's 27MB and my email won't let me send a file that big.
Here's intructions though to do it yourself if you want:

HOWEVER, instead of changing the Value to 020 as he says, change it to 000
It'll install fine on your M17. -
thanks for the info
-
If someone does try this, plz post up how it fares against Vitakey.
-Thanks! -

64-bit Vista download here.. -

Yeah, you have to download the installer, and then change a value with Orca.
ALL the instructions are in that link above, other than the value to change shouldn't be changed to 020, it should be 000. -
I just respawned this weekend and posted that information up on here since it was my 2nd time to do it. Figured someone else might wanna too. -
Yes Vitakey does that for IE and FF.
If yours does it for Opera, I would try it in a heartbeat. -
