    Yeah well the problem is due to the hinges... I just haven't sent it in for repairs.

    too bad you overclocked, but still. if it was just heat, you DID have the 8700gt, and even overclocked, i cant see it heating up as much as the 8800gtx.

    More like flash the original BIOS and no one will ever notice, right? ;)

    they will still flash the bios for you when they recieve it. When i sent mine in for the hinge problem on dec my laptop still had x32 on it. it came back with x34 so for some reason they will turn on your comp when they fix the hinge :/. I dont think theres a point flashing the bios as it will probably be flashed to some other version anyways.

    if you overclocked it with software then its fine to just take the hard drive out. I thought that the m15x was unable to overclock via bios?

    I could only imagine they flashed the BIOS to X34 for the higher fan speed profiles. It might be one of those things they do to help prevent it from happening again.
