Me: Hi, i just had a query about the UPS shipping details that you gave me
CS: Of course, what is your number
Me: [-----------------------]
CS: Please hold on
CS: That was delivered on the 22nd December
Me: Yes, to an address in the USA
CS: Was there a problem with the delivery?
Me: Yes, I live in the UK
CS: I will have to check this with UPS. Please can you call back next week
Me: I think you might have an incorrect shipping number
CS: Thats not possible
Me: Well if you look at my order date you will see that i didnt order the laptop until the 28th January this year. Its probably not possible for you to have delivered it one month before I ordered.
CS: Please could you call back next week and I will query this with UPS
Me: <laughs, bangs head on desk, gives up>
Perhaps Dell have been pouring R&D money into manufacturing your order before you have even ordered it.....!

Identical thing happened to me for my M17x R1 - but don't call CS - call your Personal Account Manager (who you should get the details for when you get order confirmation) - speak to anyone else and you will get bounced and messed around (from my experience).
Let's just say my CS experience has been "The wheel is spinning but the hamster's dead". Tech support (Slovakia) on the other hand has been excellent.

I say that area of support been stupid to very dumb. I know I have one person say one thing and another say another and it a pain in the Rear.

i got a tracking number for my m17 repair and it said it was going to france, iwas not happy, then i found out they did give me the wrong tracking number

Its no surprise that 99% of the dell reps you get on the phone are clueless about anything you can ask them. It seems that no matter the question you are put on hold while they contact the 1 person who knows everything. Then since they cant get through to that person they come back on the line and feed you a complete line of crap that they hope you will believe.
i contacted them about the audio studder on my wife's M17x and they told me a fix would be issued this week past. ummm.... no fix. big surprise. -

I dunno - its moments like that when I realise Im quite good at my job! Must be a bad job working in those call centres, all they get is people moaning at them....
Im so mature - but ooooh I cant wait until my new laptop arrives!!
