Well, AW returned my laptop after two weeks in their repair depot. They replaced the mother board. I was happy and started installing all my stuff on it thinking that I finally had a nice system and the tech support hassles were behind me.
Wrong.![]()
As I was looking at the (m5750) case closely, I noticed that the top half of the notebook was splitting from the lower half. It looks warped. I called customer support, sent them pictures of what I was talking about and to see if maybe it was something that I could fix and they recommend that I return it for repairs again.
This will be the second time in one month that I have to send my laptop in for repairs. THis is the most I've ever paid for a computer and so far, the worst service I've ever had accompanied with the most dismal customer service. So it looks like I'm returning it to the repair depot on Monday.
One more time, they screw this up and so help me, I will return it indefinately and get a refund.

It sounds like that warping could have happened when it was in transit. Hopefully it won't take too long to get it back.

Do they cover shipping charges for that kind of thing?

I've heard stories just as bad about the Macbooks. One guy in this forum was on his 5th problematic Macbook when I stopped reading his thread, who knows how that turned out.
When all the problems are fixed, it will be worth it! -
I have a MacBook. It's great!!! (but, this is my second one...first one had to be returned because the fan wouldn't shut off
). The difference was, I was able to take it to the Apple store and get a replacement within the hour.
With Alienware, you do need to be patient since it will most likely need to go back for repairs, and this/along with shipping takes some time. But, in my experience, the systems are worth the extra waiting time.
Another AW dissapointment..
