I am still getting a lot of enjoyment out of my M17x R4, but I'm sure everyone here understands the desire to get the latest and greatest tech. Does anyone have info on whether or not there might be another AAFES sale like there was the last 2 years? I worry there may not be, since the one last year was a bit of a disaster due to price mistakes, canceled orders, etc...

So, anything you got, I'd love to hear it.

What is the max discount one could get from a AFFES deal?

I'll check at some point and see. Gotta remember my password and such though. :)

Edit:Just checked and it doesn't look like you save nearly as much as the previous sales, but I could get a decent specced M17 with the 780 and 1080p screen for a little over $2K, almost $300 cheaper than the regular site.

Wow, I checked just earlier today and nothing. Good to see it's updated! Now we just play the waiting game and look for an outrageously low price.

I just figured someone may have some inside info, or perhaps heard word last year that AAFES/Dell will never do it again since it was such a disaster.

I purchased my 08/09 M17 from there and got around 600 off, but I have not seen that deal for awhile

I got a brilliant deal on mine from the UK equivalent scheme 2 years ago, I paid about £600 less than the price on the website (About 1/3 off)

The no tax deal is the biggest advantage. There's a glitch on the 17 builds with the 3D display and no matter how many discounts they apply when you call them, they can't seem to get close to the aafes prices.

I noticed that the Navy Exchange "STAR" card will be running a special from 1-31 July on Dell Alienware online purchases of $699 or greater with no interest or payments till 02/15. So I hope you can purchase through AAFES and pay with STAR card.
