Does any one know if M15x ordered after the A02 Bio came out would have the A02 Bio installed already at the factory instead of A01? thanks

I just got my M15x on 01/02/10 and it's got A03 on it. Not sure what the difference is but that's what my the first screen of my BIOS says.
-
I should be getting mine tomorrow or thursday ill be sure to let you know.
-

Can you test two things?
Can you download KeyView ( http://go.notebookreview.com/?id=525X832&url=http://www.cgl.ucsf.edu/home/tef/wintools/keyview.exe) and see what key code you get back when you press enter?
Can you also check if your system throttles? -
wouldnt the AO3 bios been on the dell suport and download page ?
also what do the updated bios do does it make things run better -
-
ah kk is it something where i could call or contact dell and find out what it does or will they not give out that info
-
just post the bios so our m15x experts on these broads can test it and hopefully ok it for flashing

I wonder if this remedies the infamous USB/Iphone syncing problem. I know a few manufacturers have patched that problem up (HP for one). I wonder if anyone can confirm?

If I get time I'll try it tomorrow. Gotta install iTunes on my M15x. I normally do all my iThings from a Mac of some sort. I got the A03 BIOS on mine on the 2nd of January. My CPU and GPU do not throttle. I wish someone with the higher GPU's would get the A03 BIOS. I wanna know if that is why there is no throttling or if it's the 240M itself. But yeah, I'll try iTunes with my iPhone 3GS tomorrow when I can.

I think it's a program that grabs the code the BIOS uses for each key. That code is the go-between for the BIOS and the OS.

slight problem the bios update in the other thread didnt fix the throttling for 260m
-
-
i was referring to that guy that got the ao3 bios but he wasnt sure if it throttled or not false alarm
mines ordered and waiting

i just got off the phone with Dell. Heres what i was told A03 is still in final testing i asked for it to be emailed to me but i have to wait they said. They said it should be released soon it is being quality tested now. they would not say what the fixes are. I was told that they could email it to me once it has cleared testing, but i would imagine by that point they would post it online. i'm honestly shocked that units are shipping with it if it is being quality tested thats a little scary! we need some confirmation from A03 owners if they are having any throttling or sound popping issues under win 7 64bit. I can only hope that those are just some of the issues being addressed. Although the sound thing seems to be more of a driver thing still. i figured i'd try to get it early since i was calling in to get a new harddrive , my seagate died 2 weeks ago.

how using keyview??? sorry i don't know how to do what u asked.

Jesus. I've got A03 on my 720/240M unit and I have NO PROBLEMS. The BIOS is real, it works and there's no problems with it. At least not on my machine. This thing is blazingly fast, extremely reliable and plays games like there is no tomorrow. I'd buy this thing again in a second. No remorse at all. I'd say it's probably the best 15" laptop on the market for the money right now (if it would only run OSX it would be perfect).
-
Did they fix the problem with the Enter key? I know that there's a few games that don't work because they require you to push the "Enter" key and the system sees it as a return key instead.
-
hmmm i feel bad about using rivatuner now, i wonder if mine was cpu throttling at all, now i'm worried that i may have messed up my system i've got a 920xm with a gt260 and a03. maybe i should system restore to when i got the system and test it out. anyone got any suggestions.
-
upload the bios and let another m15x try it and see if it throttles
-
dont know how
-
dont you go on the aw support site find the a02 bios download the program and it should give you a choice to backup bios? someone correct me? dont flash it with a02 lol
then you just add .txt after the rom so it can be uploaded here -
there bios flash is automated unless you are sure of what your doing i wouldnt do it. if we have to wait so be it.
-
just tell me what i need to do it and i'll do it.
-
anyone, i really wanna help out, or atleast point me in the direction of where i can find out how.
-
just got got M15x yesterday and A03 came with.

-
i don't mind, worst that could happen is i have to send it back
-
they released A03 and it bricked the laptop, new board needed do not pass go
-
Installed iTunes 64bit version on my M15x. Sync'd my iPhone 3GS. No problems. Works great. Note that I only did this about 5 or 6 times to test it. Like I said above, I do all my iThings on a Mac normally.
-
Just to chime in on the sound popping issues. I have experienced those since the beginning. I ordered my M15x the first day they were available and with vista it was unbearable at times. With 7 it doesn't seem as bad and isnt noticable if I use the jack closest too me. I'm still hoping they fix that.
Any recent M15x owners? Bios
