    Quick question for you guys!
I got the m15x many months ago. Around May or something I think.
I never really upgraded the video drivers or any of that since then and am wondering if there have been any recent big updates that I should know about.

i know there are so many other GFX drivers out there, but the alienware websites still shows the original 160 something driver, and the 170 something as the beta one...

    Whats the deal here?
Which driver should I be running?
And is there any major software updates to the alienware m15x system? Or bios or anything...

ahh there should be a whole auto-update option on the m15x lol...or is there

I recommend you stick to the X32 BIOS as the X34 and X36 BIOS both have serious issues.

I'd recommend the 177.92, 177.98, 179.13 or 180.43 drivers from www.laptopvideo2go.com. If you're not sure how to properly install these drivers:
    (1) uninstall current NV display drivers
    (2) restart
    (3) clean any leftovers with driversweeper or ccleaner
    (4) restart
    (5) install drivers (download both the driver/modified .inf, extract to any folder, overwrite the old .inf with the modified one then run the setup file)

Note that all the other drivers are pretty similar minus 180.43. It is supposed to improve DX10 performance, and as far as I've noticed, does not conflict with DX9 performance. If you're playing DX10 games, you'll probably want to give this driver the first shot.

Ah, yeah. Whizzo is right, that update includes AlienSense (face recognition) and AlienTouch (touchpad software).
