I have discovered two dead pixels (they appear dead to me) on my LCD.

Anybody faced similar issues, I have mailed AW about it as I am in India  and waiting for their response. Just wondering what are my support options. This machine not more than a month old... and I was loving it :(

    check the warranty info...
also - you are under the warranty for 1 yr still, they may replace with new one.

you can have the screen replace. so far you are the only one to get a dead pixel on the m15x here

Well i have 1 on my screen (1440) but i really couldnt be bothered to get it sent back etc etc, as with all the other complaints it'd probably come back worse anyways :)

I don't have any dead pixels on my m15x. We have the same resolution ( 1440x900 )

Shipping might cost a lot if you want to ship it back.

For international orders, you have to pay for shipping costs both ways :(

I don't think you can get that replaced. I think the dead pixel policy is as follows:

    http://4help.alienware.com/cgi-bin/...mNoX3RleHQ9cGl4ZWwgcG9saWN5&p_li=&p_topview=1

As I interpret it, you have 2 on the outer edge, and you will need 3 to be considered for a replacement.

I had something in the center of my screen that was determined to be damage from the inside. It wasn't a dead pixel. I sent pictures and they said it seemed that something was pushing against my screen from the inside. They offered to replace it, but I'm waiting for a time when I don't need my laptop.

I never even considered that to be honest. Is changing a screen in an m15x a process? I know that with my old toshiba, you had to pretty much gut it out before you could get the lcd off (in order to get to the ribbon cable)

i have not done it personally, but i have read on here of others that have. they did not seem to say it was very difficult, but then i do not know the level of experience they have.

but if you feel indifferent to attempting it yourself, i would send it in.

there is somekind of software outthere to fix dead pixels, it displays Colours really fast, and it works, it removed 3 dead pixels on my sister's Toshiba, but you should leave it running for like 24 hours non stop.

yea for dead pixels the software wont do anything. stuck pixels have a color. like they can be red, green, blue or any combo of those 3. dead pixels are black. just make sure if you have dead pixels or stuck pixels
