Your desktop only weighs 25 pounds? You're lucky! I would say my case alone is about 25, probably pushing 35-40 with all the parts in it..

my desktop is probably about 45-50 pounds....htpc being about 35-40 (but my htpc is not normal haha)
Q9550 watercooled and a 4890

Well, I'm sure others have posted this but moving from a XPS M1730 to the M17x I doubt I will even notice a change... They didn't call the XPS M1730 'The Beast' for nothing... That thing + the power brick + a Logitech Alto stand w/keyboard was enough to ache the shoulder carrying it around an airport.
-
Going from a 17" MacBook Pro to this is going to be a big difference, but I prefer a 17" and the weight comes with it. More so for more power. But lugging around a fire hose is nothing, so I'm sure I won't even notice 13lbs.

Is that a swiftech Water cooler? Thanks what i have -

scook9, WHY do you have a gaming desktop AND a gaming laptop? That...well, it defies logic. In my view you either have an all-in-1 (so to speak) gaming laptop, or a gaming desktop and a mid-end laptop that still performs fairly well on games for when you're at a friend's house or travelling or something.
(My reasoning is because, well, it's technically not my desktop...it's a family desktop that my father let me spec up because I wanted to play games, and play games well...and I kind of wanted my own portable gaming rig.) -

I also have a gaming htpc
the picture above is my htpc, here is my gaming desktop hehe
and the answer is, where ever I am, i want to be able to game
for example, right now I am in wyoming and hooked up to a 52" Sony HDTV with the laptop, and I brought some games and my 360 controller -
I have a high-end desktop and laptop..laptop isn't nearly as good as my desktop though..decided to cheap out on it
.
Laptop's 3DMark06 score is 11,500, desktop is ~20,000
EDIT: Scook, those better not be 295's... -
scook9 are you made of money?
Or do you just starve yourself to afford so much gaming equipment? (Just joking on that last question, don't answer it)

haha no, 275's, with 4 GHz on the i7 920 though I got 24k 3DMark06 with pretty much no tweaks

Sick rig btw. -

Ya this laptop pretty much marks the end of my fun spending, I am going into senior year pretty broke and unemployed. Gotta start saving for the real world lol
Pretty sure my curent setup should be able to carry me for a while though -

LOL...I usually have both myself. Though normally my laptop is a slight class lower than the desktop. Forealz though, the best gaming laptop is not going to hold its "weight" against the best gaming desktop
-
I guess thats why i am so damn skinney on top of a crazy fast metabolism. -
I guess if it ever comes to it, you could use your laptop to look up food on the Internet and stare at it.

Haha, if push comes to shove, I would sell the desktop probably. Since my laptop will more than suffice now
and I have to have a laptop if nothing else (last february I had only a laptop.....how the times have treated me lol)

I could sell my desktop for $1500 and take a $200 loss but it would sell immediately haha
I would keep the MX 5500 Revolution set, 2 24" monitors, Z-5500 speaker set for use with the laptop, a super BA docking setup if you will lol. Since this laptop can easily offer a desktop experience
Having the option for mobility is a must for me (even if I do not need it, I just like having the option)
Anyone else NOT have a problem with weight of m17x?
