Fedex say it was left on the door step.
I was home all day and no one came to the door, I had the door open and only a screen door, I can hear anyone coming to the door, let alone ring the doorbell.

So I called them and they are waiting to hear back from the driver, which takes a few days.

So what happens if they cannot locate my laptop? I am betting they left it on the wrong doorstep and someone kept it.

Do Fedex or Dell issue a refund? Never had a package go missing before, especially something as expensive as a new laptop :(

I call BS. They have lo-jacks on most of their trucks and they can contact the driving during the call. Something is up. Start throwing a fit because you've been jacked. Hate it when they pull crud like this. Wasn't a laptop but they pulled that on me with a phone. Took a week to find out the driver was stealing boxes.

Sorry, but start calling Dell and FedEx: also, your FedEx ship has insurance.
So, FedEx or Dell will replace your computer, right?

I have had a few laptops come from Dell/Alienware and they have always been by direct signature only. It would be very unusual i would think for dell to send such an expensive item another way. I would be on the phone to Dell or Alienware now. They will have a much better chance of getting to the bottom of this than you since they are a huge client.

    Oh I have called both.
Fedex say a signature was not required, which I find strange.
They are investigating now and will call me back to see what the driver did with it, or where he left it.
I think if he left it at the wrong house someone would have brought it over as it was addressed to me, unless they decided to keep it themselves.

Half guessing its gone, just wondering what the process will be to either get it replaced or get a refund.

Does dell always use FedEx? If so, please see my avatar (I've been waiting for a chance to change it). If someone says UPS or USPS, then I may consider changing my avatar today :)

Also, does FedEx need a signature from ME and ME only? Or can they leave it with my roommate (the person who answers the door)?

this reminds me of "next day air" movie, however, instead of crack your neighbor might have gotten an ALIENWARE!!!

Anyways, i have never heard of dell sending a laptop with no signature required.

But whose signature do they require? Exactly MINE or can a family member or gf or roommate accept it?
