TDP relating to power consumption is a very poor indicator. Put it this way, Intel is very pessimistic about their products TDP while AMD is overly optimistic. If you take a 25W TDP processor from AMD and Intel, you will find that the AMD processor will run warmer and pull more amps than intel.

I just ordered an M15x so I am gonna pass on the 11x. My roommate on the other hand seems to think it is amazing. He wants one now though, so I am not sure if he can hold out until Spring.
The only game (and genre of games RTS) that I could think would be ok or practical to play on this was StarCraft 2 when it comes out. What do you guys think? -
Why would anyone want an 11 inch gaming notebook? If it was 13'', I may say "okay, it sucks, but 2 inches less than 15'', but 11''? What gaming potential is there on that -_-.

When it comes out, I'll sell my Vaio P and probably pick one up.

if i where a milliionar and didnt care about money and all i still wouldnt get the M11x just is im going to get an 11 inch laptop i would only be getting it for puposes of emails and stuff not much i could see me doing with anyting on a screen smaller then 15 inches so why not get a cheap net book for that size
-
I, personally, cannot wait for this to be launched, so I can get one.
I have a netbook at the moment, an Eee 1000H. I've gotten used to the 10" screen on it. The only problem I have is that not everything fits on the screen. But that's only with certain applications.
This laptop has a slightly bigger screen, same sort of size and a not-massive weight difference.
This is the perfect computer for me, unless the soon-to-be-arriving updated model of the 13" MacBook Pro knocks my socks off.
However, I wouldn't be buying it for the extra two inches. -
Kade Storm The Devil's Advocate
I might consider one of these in the distant future, if there isn't a better quasi-gaming netbook in the market. Truth be told, the CPU seems to be a bit weak.

Rengsey R. H. Jr. I Never Slept
I can picture all the 11" ers gamer with wrinkles around their eyes ..... lol
-
3$ says it has a XGP port ....

-
I like it a lot, but I wont be getting one. An m13x in the same price range, however, is a different story...
-
its a 13 inch laptop with a 11 inch screen

Well, it's almost a 12" screen
11.6 inches, people -
That XGP port is something I look very forward to being implemented. It will be the end of bulky gaming laptops. I'd have no issues with buying a 1" thin 20" notebook that weighs 7 lbs with integrated graphics as long as it has an XGP port included. Whenever I want to game, I'll plug it in and I'm off! I can't wait until that arrives.

The M11X isn't marketed as a primary machine, but more to be a gaming machine on the go. It's perfect for who already has a primary machine. That's why Dell is calling it a netbook because it's made to get along with the M15X or any other gaming computer, and not replace what you already have. Remember, people don't buy netbooks to use them as their main computer.

Fujitsu release a laptop with an XGP port 2 years ago, never took off. XGP video cards were extremely pricey for a midrange card. Another downside, XGP only works with an external monitor.
-
Fujistu Amilo 3650, sold well enough...it was just never released in the U.S. like most of the Amilo line. It used a 3870 which was high-end at the time and while it started off using external monitors it was updated to use the laptops own monitor.
Fujitsu also had a 1 year exclusive rights contract on the XGP port which is why Acer Ferrari One only recently got to use it. -
A) Not once has Dell referred to it as a netbook. That was Engadget and other tech blogs doings.
B) I got a netbook, and I use it as my main computer
Fair enough, I don't game on it. I use the family computer for that. But it does everything else that I need. I shoved in a 320GB HDD and upgraded the RAM. I can browse the web with it, talk with my friends on it and it syncs my iPhone. That's about 80+% of what I do on a computer. -
i may get depending the price, 1000 and less i will. I rather get an M15x if it costs 1200-1300
Anyone going to get the new M11x?
