Anyone tried buffing scratches out of the clear plastic bezel?

My screens on both my m15x and m17x have scratches (joys of buying them used), though the m15x is quite a bit worse. Has anyone tried taking the display panel off and using a buffing compound on them or anything? Maybe even a headlight restore kit from the autoparts store, I'm open to almost anything. The m15x looks like it has pitting on the top of it, really would like to at least get rid of most of it.

Run your nail across the scratches, if it catches then its too deep for buffing compound to be effective.

Might be easier to just replace it.

Wouldn't be worth the risk. Plus isn't the plastic bonded onto the top half so you mess up all the glue if you try to seperate them? I could be wrong.

Know if they are made out of acrylic or polycarbonite? Might do a little experimenting.

White toothpaste not the gel type has a very mild abrasive in it, whether or not you try it, the risk is yours and the plus is you notebook with smell great and not get cavity's :)

Though i recommend you just leave it alone it makes your notebook unique.

    LOL!
I would replace the screen. It's not worth the risk, you could end up buying the screen anyway if it fails. :p

I have had decent luck using a NEW not used white rubber type eraser. You lightly work it in the direction of the scratch. But only if it is a matte finish. Glossy screens do not repair well.
