Yeah, I know what you mean guys.. The build quality is awesome and it's super rugged. I doubt it would survive a hard knock better than a plastic machine, but it definitely is a solid machine.
Don't get me wrong, apart from the weight - it's by far the best built laptop I've ever owned and if I had to choose between this and an equally specced thin and lite, I would still go for this machine hands down..

Nah we didn't get you wrong, we just like to talk about the awesomeness of this machine. To some it get's them emotional, to some it hers them aroused.
I'm VERY curious what the next release will look like? -
Ya I agree the laptop great and I dont care what other people say. But one time I was ask Did you buy that becuse it was on The Big Bang Theory. I was cracking up.

Sure, there might be a few stuffy execs who look down on the form factor of an AW, but most probably don't care one way or the other. Tech execs might actually be impressed with the chic design...

Most people would not know what they are made for. They would simply see a cool black laptop.
But too heavy IMO (except for the M11x). -
Not that I care in the least bit. -
Professional enough?
Depends on the profession I suppose. My company already supplies us with Dell Latitude laptops that are imaged, locked down and allow for very little in the way of customisation due to being a very large corporation.
Would I bring it to work if I was in IT or some sort of gaming/design etc.company? Sure.
Would I bring my m17x to work in a banking/finance corporate environment? Heck no. It might be a cool notebook but having a gamer tag attached to you in a corp. environment isn't necessarily something you want as a professional in that industry. You might think it's pretty awesome to show off but there is a stigma attached to gamers. (If it didn't have the Alienhead on the top? No problem.) -

I would say the Black version would fit in well in any office
-
The silver version of the m11x actually fits in better, IMO. I wish I had bought that one, instead. I had to see it in person before I really thought it looked nice. But I cannot, now. Otherwise I would be just copying what someone else bought
Are M15x / M17x Professional enough or not?
