    Hi everyone,
I'm sure you've already spotted it, but I am in fact a representative of Dell. Unfortunately, I'm more external than internal. My news and tools are very limited, although I'd be very happy to help address any hardware related issues as far as diagnosis.

I don't believe you are a representative of Dell any more than you would be Sony, Apple or IBM are you? Are you paid and in contact with Dell?

I think it is important that we make sure everyone is well aware of whether you are assisting from a personal standpoint having been trained as a systems expert, or a person employed by Dell.

The wrong impression may cause some confusion.

Most of the dudes on the forum that work for a certain company introduce themselves.
If you really are a representative, might as well say who and what exactly you do.

If you are an official representative for Dell, please contact the NotebookReview Administration to get Retailer designation :).

    Hi,
Just to clear up some confusion, I am a trained system expert in Dell. I am not employed by Dell, but rather a contractor that represents Dell (there are no technicians directly employed by Dell other than factory locations). Also, the same is true for IBM, Sony, and Apple. Althought I do remain in contact with Dell, I am not in the direct internal light of news and development. As an external representative, I can only assist from a personal standpoint. However, in the event that support is needed based on warranty status, it would not be uncommon to see me represent Dell on a repair (as with IBM, Sony, and Apple). There are different levels of representatives, as with any large company. It is important to understand that there are representatives of every company that are not directly employed, but rather contracted to.
My position is that of a technician. I diagnose and repair systems with onsite warranty.

    Hope this helps,
    Gabe
