    Are there that much difference in these two graphics card??

    Sales rep says there's not much difference between the 1g Ati 5730 and the ati 5850.. What gain will I have getting the 5850 over the 5730? Also I plan on using the m15x for gaming so would it be a big difference?

    The 5730 is a downclocked 5850, the 5850 will be slightly better.

    get the 5850. its not that much more and its worth the extra. especially if you want the system for gaming

    Actually the 5730 is probably about half as fast as the 5850, maybe a little better than that. As per the ATI spec. sheets, the 5730 has 400 stream processors while the 5850 has 800 stream processors.
