With all the complaining that people do about the M17x and M18x with crash, gpu problems and hardware failure. Is there any one out there that does not have problems? Is anyone completely happy with their Alienware system?

Hello, Mike, what i can tell is that you are on a forum where people don't usually come and tell everybody how happy they are with their laptop. You'll mostly see issues, questions etc.

But i am sure there are a lot of folks happy with their Alienwares.
I am one of them and from experience i can tell you that if you take care of your system (doesn't have to be Dell/AW) it will last you more than you wished to keep it.

I bet on a notebook forum, Alienware section - that we like Alienware :)

But serious, all computers have little problems, hiccups etc but doesn't mean we don't like 'em. Now completely happy? I don't know, who is ever completely happy with anything outside yours kids.

This is true. A forum is for where people go to discuss problems, faults, and mods. Typically reviews are where you see people really enjoy their system

I love my Alienware M17x R2 and M18x. Both are the best laptops I have ever owned and I don't think I would be satisfied with anything else. I have owned many different brands of laptops and used many different brands through work.

My entire life has been about high performance cars, motorcycles and computers. High performance anything has quirks from time to time. I have been through a number of system exchanges due to unresolved issues and that doesn't change anything for me. People that are only interested in pushing a button or turning a key are better off sticking with mainstream products that meet their needs, but don't perform quite as well. In some cases (and we have all seen it here) people buy something that is more than are equipped to manage due to lack of technical know-how and that sometimes turns out poorly. The flip side of the coin is some of them turn out to be technically savvy geeks and enthusiasts like the rest of us because this community is all about helping.

As previously stated, forums--especially those like this one--can tend to be magnets for people looking for answers to problems and frustrated venters looking for a place to unload their sorrows, and some with an agenda to get even through bad publicity. The latter are a minority, but we've seen them more than once. You can find a forum or a blog for just about any product, or any brand, where the unhappy flock together to complain. There are some sub-forums here at NBR where ordinary people with ordinary computers gather to talk about ordinary things, but this is not one of those sub-forums. It doesn't take very long to figure that out.

In the technology world, there is no such product that is flawless, every tech gadget or electronic are all have their problems. And like everyone above me said, if you want to see how happy people are, you should check the Owner's lounge you might have more luck to see people happy about their Alienware.

I agree with all that was said, I was just wondering.

Mr. Fox I like you more and more ever time I read of of your posts. I too LOVE high preference vehicles. I guess I'm a little more comfortable with them because I have a lot of experience with the workings of cars and bikes. Computer on the other hand I have a lot learn.(I think it's odd that a guy going to school for computers) I know more then your average user but I am now where near the level of some of you guys. All I need is the equipment and the time.

Ha ha, thank you, Mike. Appreciate the kind words. If you can handle cars and bikes, computers are even easier. No busted knuckles or grease under the fingernails. I'm sure you'll be a crazy geek like the rest of us in no time. Some of the smartest computer hot-rodders in the Alienware Community are current or former motorheads.
