Well if you are I have good news for you. I ordered my M15x last Thursday 3/19/09 at 10:30pm Alienware Time Zone (Eastern). My order quickly moved to stage 6 of 9 (Integration of Software) by Mid-Day Friday. On Tuesday Morning 3/24/09 it moved to phase 8 (Final Inspection/Prep-Shipping) At 5:20pm Alienware Time my order was picked up by Fed-Ex. It is expected to arrive tomorrow morning Friday 3/27/09. That's 7 days and 12 hours to Build and Ship an M15x to Wisconsin. So again, if you are in the market for one, have no fear of a long build date (depending on what you spec it out to). I must say this is WAY better than my desktop Experience 2 years ago when it took 3.5 weeks to build and then apparently the address got changed and it got delivered to a school about 3 hours from where I lived. Maybe having a big black box saying "ALIENWARE: HIGH PERFORMANCE SYSTEMS" wasn't a good idea. I've heard they've changed that. Just wanted to let you all know my great experience this time around!

I ordered my M17 on 3/19 with and estimated ship date of 3/26. On 3/26 i called alienware customer service after going to the order tracking site and seeing that the system was still in the build phase. I was told the system was finished that day and at the latest would ship that following monday 3/30. As it was already a few days later than expected i decided to change the processor i had picked. yes lol i did have them disassemble my laptop the day it was finished.
Suprisingly there was no restocking fee for the swapped chip. I suppose they most likely hadnt even turned the system on at that point tho. I was informed this would most likely add another three business days onto the order which is not a big deal. Im hoping it will ship 4/2 at the latest which conisdering my order change is completely acceptable. I ordered the M17 with dual 3870s, core duo 2.53, vista 64bit with 4ghz ram, 320gb 7200 hd (wish the had larger solid state drive options), the 720p screen and the illuminated keyboard. To say the least i am excited to get that shipping confirmation. This will be my second laptop in three weeks

They are giant and black with no markings on the outside. In case of thefts almost all major shipping companies will cover the theft and work with the company to replace it, although you didn't mention your shipping company. If you have Fedex or UPS you can have peace of mind if your really that worried lol. Also enjoy your M15x FireCat, I go to UW-Milwaukee right down the pond and brother goes to Madison

nice nice nice ...i still have a small feeling of regret not getting the m15x ... just want the battery life and size
but then i fire up a game and i am all better. Beside if i would have ordered it then i would have missed the 200$ price cut
