I got the m17x last year while I was in Iraq and was disappointed about how well it played crysis, which I thought was the game to test systems. IT was choppy and slowed down alot until I tweaked the hell out of it. The M17x played other new games like tomb raider and Fall Out 3 with out a glitch BUT they didn't look as nice.

Fast fwd 2 months, Im home, GF is on vaca so I bought the new Need for speed (shift), and resident evil 5.

WOW holy crap both games play smooth, look fantastic, never stutter (both have physics which I think would rival crysis) with all the settings maxed out (except shadows which I always turn off)

So the old girl still has some life in her!!!

PS Need for speed shift is nuts!!!!!!!!!

    System specs:
    2.5 ECU
    2x 9800GTS
    4 Gig ram
    32 op system

Um the point was to let people know that it can play the latest and greatest!!!!!
Because I for one was beginning to think that it was already dated. but nope its not!!!!!!

No there has not been a driver update in a while. But drivers for the 9800gts are still coming out from Nvidia. I got the most recent off of this site, and everything works: sleep, hdmi out, blu ray etc. The M17x specific drivers dont need updating ie alien fx etc.

lol does that even make sense.... well I have the same machine but with 8800m's and it does play more recent games like batman and resident evil 5 on high settings for the most part at a decent clip. Just goes to show nvidia doesn't do too much reinventing gpus (just rebranding and adding more cores).
