Hi guys, got a problem with my Area 51 that i bought back in 2005.
The first symptom of this problem started on night when I tried to turn my computer on. I turned it on, got the blue light around the power button, it checked the cd rom drives, the hard drive led came on and off intermittentaly like it suppose to, but it wouldn't go any further than that. It wouldn't show the bio's screen or anything just a blank screen. The fans would kick in after about a minute.
Then if I turned it off it would do the same thing. If I kept doing it a few times it would finally boot normally.
Then one night it got worse. It would take a few more times to turn on and off, and then when I would start certain programs the hole system would freeze and I'd have to turn it on and off a few times and it would boot but then freeze after a few other programs. Now it will just run on, but it won't go to bio's or anything.
I pulled the ram and the hard drive and I should still get to a boot screen but its not even getting there. I get the same results every time. I think its the motherboard. Anyone know how much that would cost to replace?

How about the video graphics card? It could be that unless you have integrated graphics support on your system.

You grahic card is dead. You need a new card.
Area 51 won't go to bio's or boot
