    Hi,

I recently had my area 51-m (model D9t) notebook serviced because I could not get power through the motherboard. After replacing and checking all of the peripherals, I was told that the motherboard was fried. The technician also informed me that I could only obtain another motherboard from Alienware. I was just curious if this was a common problem and whether on not it is true that I cannot obtain a new motherboard on the open market.

    Thanks.

There should be a few D900T motherboards about on eBay. If it's still under warranty (I doubt there is any left though) you could get Alienware to exchange it for you.
