    Hi,

Ive just signed upto the forum and want to know what you guys think to my setup and if any, what possible over clocking tweaks i can do to my m15x to make it better.
When i mean overclocking i dont want blow it up, i would like to know if over clocking my notebook to a degree will make it better and not break it?

    Thanks guys

At the moment, without the 920XM and it's unlocked multipliers, you are SOL. I don't think there are any software OC tools for the i7 at this time.

Try SetFSB? You won't break anything without overvolting, which you can't do.

you have an extreme proc. on the bios should be an option to raise the multiplier but i don't know since i never own one like that

Ah yes, an x9000. Check your bios for any OC options.

The Area-51 m15x has no BIOS options for overclocking, neither by FSB or multiplier.

Your best bet would be to use SetFSB. The downsides are 1. you have to overclock it on every restart, and 2. the Area-51 m15x's cooling SUCKS so it probably already runs very hot.

    Hey,

EviLCorsaiR i checked dwsetFSB but so far he hasn't created it to work with x9000???
So is that a dead end route for the time being?

    Cheers

SetFSB has nothing to do with the CPU. It only influences the FSB. You need to know your clock generator or PLL number. Do a search, I'm sure someone has done it.

The PLL number is located on the motherboard and i think nobody really bothered looking for the m15x PLL.

For the Area-51 m17x: (maybe the same?)
