i've had this laptop for at least 2months, bought off from craigslist - whom the seller kept the unit in very very good condition.
i've been carrying this laptop around w/ me everywhere i go keeping it in a laptop backpack.
so anyways, here's the problem:
2 months later the bottom front right speaker begins to make a popping sound. and when i press my finger onto the speaker, you can feel it thumping. the popping sound is continuous until shut off. i've taken the laptop to fry's electronics who ran a diagnostic test and found out its the sound card. when they connected headphones / speakers to it, the sound runs normal, but the right side wouldn't work.
i have no idea how the motherboard layout looks like, so im wondering is the soundcard integrated onto the motherboard? or can you buy a seperate one to put in? and, what kind of sound card does it use?
any help would be much appreciated. i'd hate for this laptop to go to waste![]()

You can get an creative external card that goes into your Cardbus slot. This is probably your best bet as you will not have to fiddle around with any wiring and whatnot, link below.
