Does anyone know where I can purchase a hard drive for my laptop. I have the ide pata hd cable.. Do they sell these hard drives anymore?? Or do I need to buy the Sata hard drive cable. I was trying to save money but it looks as if I have to spend the extra $60.00 for dumb cable.. I dont like this laptop.. Paid to much and had way to many problems. Alienware and there non english fluent support team. Crappy investment for $3,000.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks

You have two options, you can buy a SATA cable, so that you can install two sata drives, or you can use your current IDE cable and install a fast IDE drive.
Currently the fastest IDE/PATA notebook drive is the Samsung HM160HC:

The SATA cables usually go for about $80 online. I just sold my last one for $20. Good luck finding one.

The D900T/D900K can read any IDE or SATA 2.5" drive, just make sure to read this guide I have: (only if you use SATA 300 drives)

Honestly, look on ebay, and see if you can find a SATA drive cable for the machine. The cheapest I have found is $60,

The reason I mention to go SATA, is because the new SATA drives are much faster than the PATA ones, and they are a bit cheaper.
