well last night i was looking on the Alienware site, just seeing how much roughly the config i would like would cost and i see the starting price and it was under £1,000 im sure of it and today i have a look on there and the basic has gone up like £150 without anything changing to £1,110 what the hell is going on, why the sudden price jump for no reason what so ever ???

we believe that's due to varying exchange rates. it fluctuates all the time on the european website. just wait a few days and it'll go back down.
EDIT: or, you might be able to order now and then call in and have them reimburse you the price difference. i believe it has happened before. -

its the first time i have encountered it go up over night, lets hope that it does go back down
-
Ever heard of currency exchange rates?
EDIT: whoops, left the thread open then posted 20 minutes later without refreshing lol. I can recall heaps of people complaining about sudden price increases, especially the UK site. -
ArmageddonAsh Mangekyo Sharingan
ive been on the site many times and this is the first time that ive seen it actually happen.
-
usually its cheaper in the morning and prices rise on afternoon/early evenin...
and no, callin in ask for the previous (lower) price has no good expectations to be successfull, i already tried this with no luck.
but beside of that: i ordered to the higher price, cancelled the order per email and re-ordered at the lower price -
I always see the price changing...
-
Almost like buying stock....except for the fact that stocks just go down in price these days.
-
ArmageddonAsh Mangekyo Sharingan
when do you think the best time of day would be to buy one at its cheapest rate?
-
just wait till you see a price that strikes you as low. no telling if it'll ever go any lower, so why fuss about it? if the price does indeed drop significantly a few days later, simply cancel your order and place a new one.

it just seemed weird to me that the price would increase so much in a matter of hours (12 at most) but i think ive seen the m9750 change before, just not as much more like £10 or maybe £20 at most
-
the state of the world is going crazy ....hundreds over night
-
Isn't this your second thread about the price of Alienwares?
-
No, this thread is about this mornings increase in price for the M17.
Actually, the model I was about to order today went up about £30 this morning, but luckily it seems to have fallen by about £55 this afternoon, so I just ordered (was approx £2910, when to £2940, but just ordered for £2885)... -

-
quite so, mr. moo (the statement about the GPU options, not the poo
).
-
Is one 4870 stonger than dual 3870 xfire?
-
don't think so, no.
-
remains to be tested but i think not at least for games optimized for xfire
