    Asks to boot from Floppy?

    I just got a used Alienware Area-51 its about 7 years old. It doesnt have an operating system but i have a disc for Linux. When i boot up the laptop a message comes up on a black screen and white letters that says:

    MBR Error 1
    Press any key to boot from floppy..._

    what floppy is it talking about? the cd drives wont open either and its just sitting at the screen telling me to boot from some floppy. what am i missing?
