This might be a silly question, but after searching everywhere, I haven't been able to find an answer to this.

I have the m9700 purchased back in December of '06 with AMD Turion(tm) 64 Mobile Technology ML-44, MMX, 3DNow, ~2.4GHz.

I have been wanting to upgrade it to 2.6 ghz and wonder if the m9700 can support this? I know the computer can't support dual core, which sucks, but the processor is the only thing lacking with my laptop. Everything else is still in great condition and it's one of the best laptops I've ever had. Curious to find out if 2.6 ghz is possible or if 2.4 is the limit.

    Thanks in advance!

u mean overclock the processor to 2.6ghz? or purchase another processor? In my opinion 2.4 to 2.6ghz will hardly be a difference if ur looking to buy another one

The max that laptop will support is the 2.4ghz I usedto have one and couldn't cope on a single core anymore. Not the only reason I upgraded but a big one
