So I have been without my laptop now for two weeks and was wondering how long it takes people to get their computers back to them. I was told on the phone that it would be no more than 10 business days and it has already been 8 business days and the only thing that I have been told is they have my computer (I was told that today). To tell you guys honestly I am starting to regret my choice of laptop for college because if this thing breaks how am I going to be able to work in college with a 2-? week repair time? Ridiculous to say the least...

Hi Daedric,
The typical repair times I've experienced are usually about 2 weeks. If it's taking longer, there may be an issue with the part they need to replace it. I forgot what you were having repaired besides the speakers.

Daedric,
We apologize for the delay, I will check into this and see what I can do for you. Will notify you as soon as I get a response from our repair facility. -
Tipically, any normal laptop manufacturer would simply give you a new laptop if yours was defective. I owned a Dell XPS M1530 and I had some problems with my screen and they simply sent me a new laptop (at some point I had the two in my house as they allow me to keep the old one until I received the new one).
My case is another shameful one... I think I will probably never receive my laptop back.
As you say... AW is ridiculous to say the least! -

Daedric,
Check your PM! Your system is currently being handled by a technician. -
While you are at it, can you please clarify why my laptop wasn't sent back yet? That would be very appreciated.
Thank you -
Thank you both James and Armando for you time and help. Hopefully I'll be getting my M15x back by next week.

we should see quite some post here, as many end up sending them in...

I sent mine in for the same problem as Daedric at about the same time. I tried calling customer support but they told me they couldn't find anything and call back in a few business days. I need it by the end of the month, hopefully it will get here by then.

Hmm. i think i said before (maybe to you in fact daedric) that buying a boutique laptop that does NOT offer FOR REAL, HONEST TO GOODNESS, "WE'LL FIX ANYTHING AT HOME WITH OUR AT HOME WARRANTY REPAIR POLICY"... WHEN GOING TO COLLEGE.... IS C-R-A-Z-Y and i dont mean C RAYZ WALZ either.
I remember my cousin's 2nd year at IU in studying econ and accounting. Sager 4750 i think it was (some kind of 47xx series) WHICH I RECOMMENDED with hard drive and motherboard issues. Just over a year old. 3 year warranty. The hard drive replacement (which she HAD TO SEND IN!?!?!) was almost a month. Granted this is when Sager only offered the 3rd party warranties after the first year. The motherboard was over 2 months. THAT'S 3 MONTHS OUT OF like... 9 months of her sophomore year! Needless to say, my aunt and uncle were PISSED. so yeah. she has a dell 15 inch inspiron thing (1505 i think). I know the sager warranty is a LOT better since they are in charge of the 2nd and 3rd year themselves NOW... but still... When you have projects and papers due... or are on the hard drive themselves and you were dumb enough not to save stuff to an external or a flash drive... DO YOU REALLY want to rely on a mail-to warranty repair service and have to borrow a friend's PC or use the overcrowded computer labs? Sorry man. hope it gets back real soon.
Milcs... you STILL haven't rec'd it back? its been there for like 3 months!!!!!! -
Enough is to say that AW proved to be the most absurd and ridiculous company I have ever dealt with. -
Hi,
I reported the problem with my laptop on a Sunday night, had it picked up last tuesday and it was delivered back to me yesterday, sadly I was not there to recieve it so I should have it back in my grubby mits today *YIPPEE*
The online portal for support is very good, but I think it could be improved, more regular updates and perhaps a fault log so you can see what the fault is and how far they are through resolving it.
Cheers,

milcs,
Maybe you haven't received it back yet because the alienware people don't like you for the bad publicity you've been spreading lolE.g. link in sig to "Why you shouldn't by m15x" etc... just a thought
