There is no way to determine if the tech is going to screw up before the tech starts the work. Your only *peace of mind* thought is if the tech does screw up and damage the system, Dell will replace/repair the damage. If the tech does screw up, be sure to have the tech contact Dell on the spot as they have a direct line into Tech Support - no hold time.

Document everything and then follow up with Support using your current case#.

Let the tech do the work, if they botch it - Dell will deal with it.

And when he replaced an alienware screen before, I think you can trust him. At least that's the best thing you got now.

According to their site it depends where the pixel is positioned. But I've decided to go with a kobalt computer (g870) from the UK. They have a zero dead pixel policy, and the 2 ghz corei7 costs only +-450 euros more compared to the +-900 which alienware is charging. I'm not a big fan of the looks but atleast I'll have better hardware for less money, and better warranty.

No, for stuck pixels, its one or more (anywhere on the screen) for the alienware M17x and M15x. I know, my stuck pixel was at the left bottom of the screen, nowhere near the center and the screen was still replaced.

    you can check it here:

but that also applies for the M15x. Dead pixels are another matter and those arent that annoying.
