    Hi,
I dropped my m15x yesterday, it fallen from a height of 20m, now it seems unusable anymore, i notice that my screen broke and the HDD was deadly shocked, both of them are not working anymore, I know the HDD is dead because when I plug it in, I hear a beep beep sound and it continues.. beep a while beep beep beep... :( I replace the HDD and that beep :( disappeared.

I'm hopping the mainboard and all other components on it was safe after the drop.. but I dont know how to check it. I'm trying to turn on my laptop, everything seems to be running although I cannot see what actually running.. I try to push the display to HDMI port but no luck, i know it can be switch if I entered Windows but now I'm trying to install a fresh OS on a new HDD and replace the broken one. I think this is the only way to check my laptop case to know it's still alive.

Anyone has a better way ? :( I'm so sad because I did not only lost my laptop but also all of my working data :(

    Update: Pictures here

How you managed to have it dropped 66ft from above? Were you gaming on a rooftop or something?

Damn dude, how long have you had the m15x? Also if only the hard drive is broke then that was a good test to see how strong the m15x is xD not to make you feel bad or anything :( that sure would suck.

That really sucks dude...one thing you can do is call up Dell/Alienware and tell them you want to upgrade to complete care..then wait a couple days and try and get them to fix it. Not exactly morally correct and I'm not sure if it would work or not, might be worth a try though.

So i'm guessing your in vietnam right now. Did you buy it in the US or somewhere else, and what kind of warranty did you get for it. If still under regular warranty then upgrade to complete care and wait a few weeks before claiming it. But I don't know if complete care is available over seas.

I dunno if that would be allowed on these forums, they'd be NSFW...the insides would be everywhere and all gauged up and stuff..screen pieces everywhere, I feel nauseous just thinking about it.

I'd be interested to see, i mean they are pretty rediculously well built, and if the machine will operate after a drop like that (screen+hdd replaced.) i'll be brutally amazed!.

Hey guys, I'm now in my office, pictures would be available when I come home ( next 10 hours from now ), now you guys should take time to prepare everything to keep your laptop's heart safe

:D I'm trying to check if the case is still alive after the fall. But first I have to find a 2.5in HDD with a Windows OS pre-installed. Damn..

Amazing that it's in such "good" condition for a fall from that height.

I bet this can be revived with a few spare parts from Dell/AW.

be careful with cooling, if your fans aren't working as they should, your components couldfry themselves pretty quickly.

    Hi guys,
I have just installed Windows 7 using another LCD. Anyone here tried to make the HDMI out using the integrated graphics card ? I tried to let the HDMI signal out using a HDMI-to-VGA cable but failed, I got a error message saying "VGA Driver Error". I think HDMI output is not available when using the integrated card.

P/s: Maybe you would ask me why didn't I use the high performance card but the answer is it's dead :(
