The notebook I used last was a Panasonic tough book. And its battery can be removed. I used to switched off the device while charging the battery so not to spoil the life time of the battery.
I haven't bought MX11 yet so I wanna to sort this one out before I purchase one.
I understand that charging the battery while having the machine turned on will hurt the battery and in the end the lifetime of the battery will be reduced.
Is it possible to remove the battery before I plug in the AC adapter so that I won't hurt the battery. And when I need to charge the battery I put it back and charge it while keeping the machine powered off?

You can removed the battery or simply unplug it from the mother board. It would involve removing the baseplate which is attached by 8 screws or so. You can also just disable the battery charging in the BIOS.

Thanks! I understand now.

On my MX11, if I disable battery charging in the BIOS it doesn't always remain disabled.
If I hibernate the Laptop and then power up again, the battery charging is re-enabled.
I have not checked if other BIOS settings are also reset to default after hibernating the MX11 and then powering it back on again. -
I believe I am going to buy this little beast. Just get myself prepared...how long does it take for charging the battery for the 1st time?
