    Hi there,

Today my M17x was not charging, but running on adapter, bios showing ac adaptor and no error on boot.

I removed the battery and now its not detected, when i unpluged the alien head flashes but laptop remains on.

any ideas on solutions or what the problem is.

Is your battery fully charged? I think that when your battery is fully charged and your computer is still plugged in that it switches automatically to just work on ac power so you battery isn't sitting there getting overcharged.

No the battery was not fully charged it was about 60% i now have a red cross through the battery on bottom right of screen.

If i un plug the power lead the alien head flashes but the laptop remains on!

pretty sure there is a fault, as the fault remains when you unplug the laptop and the laptop runs fine pluged in it narrows it down to batery or laptop.

thanks for any comments or ideas

    To fix:
    1. Unplug your AC and system battery, make sure there is no power source.
    2. Hold the power button down for 20 seconds.
    3. Plug battery and AC adapter back in.
    4. Enjoy!
